Course 1: OSINT Investigation -2024
Online sexual exploitation of children represents a crime as pervasive, abhorrent, and severe as traditional forms of minor abuse. In this digital age, predators have adapted, leveraging advanced technologies to commit sexual violations and abuses against children. These include online grooming, producing and sharing exploitative material, and live-streaming sexual abuse. Alarmingly, 99.62% of last year's reported cases involved possession, creation, or distribution of child exploitation material. Moreover, children face risks from sex tourism, trafficking, molestation, misleading online content, online enticement, and unsolicited receipt of explicit materials.
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) training sessions are designed to initiate transformative approaches in cybercrime investigations. Our focus is on introducing groundbreaking techniques and worldwide strategies to combat online child abuse and sex trafficking.
These free sessions, hosted by Boston University Metropolitan College and Endicott College in partnership with the Center for Cybercrime Investigation & Cybersecurity, are made possible through a Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention grant. We aim to augment law enforcement's effectiveness, cultivating a new cadre of skilled cybercrime investigators and prosecutors. The intensive two-day program, featuring morning and afternoon sessions, will spotlight emerging trends in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), the dark web, and blockchain technology. Please take into account that Endicott College offers a special rate for staying in its hotel for the attendees of the ICAC courses. More information is available at https://wyliecenter.com/
We are confident that these courses will markedly boost the proficiency of U.S. law enforcement agencies in tackling cybercrime, child exploitation, and sex trafficking. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with you to forge innovative solutions to these pressing cybercrime challenges.
